About

Hi. My name’s Marcus, and this is my blog about me and Jesus.

I was born in 1987, and I live in Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. This blog will be to chart my spiritual growth – ideally, day by day – and also for me to post other Jesus-related stuff.

The blog name is ‘Caffeine and Jesus’ even though I don’t drink coffee because I think it sums up what this blog is about: ordinary day-to-day life with Jesus.

In the blog, I’ll typically post (ideally) daily entries regarding what I’ve read in the Scriptures, what I’ve prayed on, and where I feel God is leading me and where I’m trying to grow spiritually. This is partly so I don’t forget what I learn from following God, and partly so I’m held accountable with regard to spiritual growth. I’ll also post a number of other things – I’m planning on book reviews, my own commentary on current happenings in the evangelical and broader Christian world, and other things. Stay tuned.

As for my spiritual leanings, I consider myself a generic evangelical Christian. This is to say I believe the Bible is God’s inerrant (perfect/without-error) word, that Jesus was and is the Son of God, and that belief in Him is absolutely necessary for salvation. In accordance with the very word of God, I believe there is no other way to God except through Jesus (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). However, beyond this I consider myself generally Reformed/Calvinist. With regard to spiritual leaders I take inspiration from, I am a strong admirer of R.C. Sproul and of Matt Chandler.

If you want to contact me, I set up an e-mail address specific for this blog at caffeineandjesus(at)gmail.com . I’m also on Twitter at @caffandjesus, and Instagram at @caffeineandjesus

Anyways, I hope this blog is as edifying to you as it will be to me. Grace and peace to you.

– Marcus
